Secure Data Lake for DoD
As data continues to be a strategic asset for the military, the Department of Defense’s (DoD’s) appointment of its first Chief Data Officer marked a significant step towards a data-centric transformation, with Soliel playing a key role in this endeavor.
Challenge: The task at hand was to render the DoD’s data visible, accessible, and trustworthy, all while upholding the highest standards of security.
Solution: Soliel spearheaded the migration of vast data volumes to Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud, leveraging AWS Snowball for data transfer and employing AWS Glue, Athena, and QuickSight for advanced data analytics and visualization. The creation of a Security Data Lake on AWS further centralized the analysis and governance of security data.
Outcomes: This transition has significantly improved data scalability, reliability, and security for the DoD, enabling better data-driven decision-making and enhancing the department’s capability to respond to security threats proactively.
